A Modern Floor Art

Typically, floors in a house are made from wood, tiles, or cement but not usually a combination of any or with no any designs with it. But for those who would like to add a modern appeal in their homes; the floor would be a good opportunity.

Modern homes now combine the basic flooring techniques to achieve a different kind of floor art that is still simplistic but not boring. A popular combination that modern architectures now have is the wood and cement. Usually, particular floor spots in a house are enclosed in big patches with the cement as their outline and the wood filling up the inner enclosed space. The cement outlines are widened to serve as the pathway that divides one area from another. Meanwhile, the inner wooden part of the floor serves as the space where furniture and decors are placed over.

Now apart from combining floor materials, introducing a floor paint design or stone floor art can also be a good choice in giving your floor a new look. For cement floors, paint designs are very easy to do. They would only need floor paint and a varnish to give it a glossy final look. As for the stone floor art, usually the center portion of a cement floor is decorated with pebbles artistically placed and embedded on it.

Among the parts of the house, the floor is one of the areas that is unlikely to be considered for renovation because of the time and inconvenience it can bring. But if considered, it will surely have a big impact on the appeal of your house. Nowadays, the hottest items for these tiles are the very colorful and artistic Spanish and Mexican tiles.

The Spanish and Mexican tiles are primarily used for decorating kitchen but they are a great way to beautify outdoor stairs for the parts of the house as well like the veranda. They give the kitchen a more vibrant appeal with its colors and it draws more enthusiasm on the cooking done in the kitchen. Besides the kitchen and veranda, the Spanish and Mexican tiles are also ideal for glamorizing the lobby at the main door. They serve as an alternative to carpets that are placed at the main door of the house. By putting a patch of Spanish and Mexican tiles on the floor of the lobby, more attention from guests can be drawn.

There are a lot of design opportunities with the Spanish and Mexican tiles because of their color and artistic design. And another thing about them is that they are usually hand-painted or hand-made which adds more appeal to them. Although, because of this same reason that they are usually more expensive than the normal tiles. But if you have the money and you are up for infusing more colors and vibrant to your house, the Spanish and Mexican tiles are one good way to go.
